Day 1 is a wrap!

Written by Ranelle

After packing and repacking (to keep the bags under the weight limit), two days of flying, we were ecstatic to smell the Rwandan air last night as we stepped off the plane. Our team of 9 who until last night had only communicated via a couple conference calls and email was now finally together. And had a great entourage from Africa New Life greeting us at the aiport. After a short night’s sleep, it was “go time.”

Our morning started at the Dream Center in Kilgali meeting with Johnson (ANL Director of Education) and John Africa (liason with the ANL partner schools). Their vision for all that is occurring here in Rwanda is contagious and we are so excited to be part of their first steps into the partner schools. Following that we were able to meet with about 40 teachers and head teachers from the partner schools that we will be visiting the rest of the week.

Fighting some jet lag, we pushed through the day spending the afternoon at the Rwanda genocide memorial and then a couple markets. All in all, successful first day and all of us are looking forward to a full night of sleep before we head to partner schools for observations tomorrow.

Thank you for your prayers!

Pray For Our Team!

A final itinerary and times were received today.  What a fabulous opportunity our team will have this year, as we will be going to partner schools in Kigali.  Our team will be visiting 16 schools this year PLUS facilitating a weekend conference.  Our team comes from across the United States.  Please lift us up as we have our final team conference call and we all finish our home obligations, while preparing for flights to Rwanda.
